I was very proud, right from the beginning. As soon as we walked in for the first time, I was very proud of what Ingenuity and ourselves had created. The response from our staff has been fantastic. They love the space, they enjoy coming into work. We overlook a beautiful field of sunflowers every day. It feels like home.”
EarthFresh
This was a win-win-win story for Fengate, EarthFresh, and our team. Working closely with our lead consultant, Pearce McCluskey Architects, we acted as Fengate Asset Management’s ambassadors while ensuring that we’re executing on the vision of our client, Tom Hughes, owner of EarthFresh. The new home for this Canadian produce company that primarily supplies the retail and food service industries with premium fresh potatoes consisted of a combination of corporate headquarters and warehouse. The new space would house management offices, boardrooms, an open concept sales team area, a gym, a kitchen, and patio areas for team lunches. We integrated some of Tom’s ideas for materials and considered his preference of an industrial look for the office area when suggesting an open ceiling concept to show the steel structure, wiring, and ductwork. The highlight to complete this project was that Tom even secured the right to plant a vegetable garden along with a beautiful sea of sunflowers in the adjacent field!
Fengate, prioritizing client satisfaction, also gave us room to do what we do best, which is to work with trade partners that we trust because we know their care for craft, and to recommend the best materials to use and the most suitable approaches to take in construction. We viewed this build as an investment instead of costs so that it will lead to an overall better outcome for our client with reduced maintenance costs in the long run. We embraced this opportunity to create a sustainable space for EarthFresh. Tom and his team were thrilled with the end result, and we couldn’t be happier!
